THE COLOURS OF FALL DON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT FORESTS.

THE COLOURS OF FALL DON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT FORESTS.

Every year, Canada gives us a pretty spectacular reminder of why our forests are worth protecting.

The reds. The golds. The changing leaves. The winding roads through the trees. The trails, lakes and landscapes that make fall feel like fall.

But those colours are only one small part of what our forests give us.

They provide habitat for wildlife. They support biodiversity. They help protect the air and water we depend on. They store carbon, cool our communities and give us places to explore, unwind and reconnect with the outdoors.

They're more than a backdrop. They're part of what makes Canada, Canada.

And like anything worth keeping around, they need a little care.

That's why this fall, Muskoka Roastery is partnering with Forests Canada to support the conservation, restoration and growth of Canada's forests.

And they're already making a big impact.

Since 2004, Forests Canada has supported the planting of more than 50 million trees across Canada, through more than 10,400 forest restoration projects.

That work is happening close to home, too. Earlier this year, Forests Canada and Ontario Parks planted 12,000 native trees and shrubs across nine Ontario provincial parks, helping restore areas affected by extreme weather, invasive species, tree loss and shoreline erosion.

Because caring for a forest isn't just about putting a tree in the ground.

It's about  helping forests recover after wildfire, storms and other disturbances. It's about planting the right trees in the right places, supporting biodiversity and giving forests the time and care they need to thrive.

It's long-term work. And it's work worth doing.

Especially when we think about the forests that surround the places we love.

The ones we pass on the way to the cottage.
The ones that line our favourite trails.
The ones reflected in the lakes.
The ones that turn an ordinary drive into a reason to pull over.

And the ones that make a quiet coffee outside in October feel pretty hard to beat.

This fall, we're doing our part to  support the forests behind the colours we wait all year to see.

Muskoka Roastery will be making a contribution to Forests Canada to support its work in conserving, restoring and growing resilient forests across Canada.

Because we don't just want to enjoy the colours this fall.

We want to help make sure they're here for the next generation, too.
