We first had Muskoka coffee at the shop in Bracebridge and fell in love with it. Ever since then we’ve only been drinking the pods, and most recently, the whole beans as our coffee maker grinds them automatically. We’ve stopped going to the local “coffee shops” as we always prefer our Bear Roast anyway. Too bad the coffee shop closed in Bracebridge. It was amazing.

We are very partial to darker roasts and for over ten years had one favourite blend/roast that we found satisfying. Our beans were purchased from Whole Foods and we decided to look for a Canadian supplier. Since trying Black Bear we have made this our go-to bean which we have delivered through their subscription programme. We love the consistent quality of the coffee and find it smoky, with hints of chocolate and a pleasant oily aftertaste.

I bought my first pound on a cottage trip to the Muskoka region and have been drinking it ever since. That was about 10 years ago.
