The Right Coffee?

We recognize that everyone is different. That is why we developed our portfolio to cover a full range of tastes and a wide span of roast levels. From the darkest roast you will find anywhere, with deep, earthy flavour, to lightly roasted coffee that let's subtle floral and winey notes sing through. The majority of the coffees in our range were designed more than 18 years ago, so each one has proven that it perfectly satisfies the needs of someone just like you.

So, if you are scratching your head and wondering whether to take the plunge and, if so, which coffee to try first - try this approach on for size. Trust your instincts and know that there are no right or wrong answers. Start with what you know. If you tend to prefer darker roasted coffee, then start at that end of our portfolio. Try Black Bear. When you get it home, take the time to compare it to what you have been drinking. Smell the burst of aroma when you first open the bag. That is what specialty beans, roasted to perfection and then sealed fresh within hours of roasting are supposed to smell like. Brew up a cup or pot and taste the complexities in the flavour profile of the coffee. That comes from combining beans from different special origins into blends that are unique to the Muskoka Roastery Coffee Co. You just can't generate that balance and complexity in single origin coffees. If Black Bear proves too dark for your taste, edge back and try Howling Wolf. A little lighter roast and very different in flavour character.

On the other hand, if you are more of a medium coffee drinker, give Loon Call Breakfast Blend a try. You can move lighter or darker and experience different taste profiles from that start point. At less than 30 cents per cup, Muskoka Roastery coffee is great value, so you can afford to experiment and dial in your preferred blend/roast combination.

Our complete portfolio of coffees is displayed in the Shop and is arrayed from darkest to lightest roast. Navigate to what interests you and click on the individual coffee to learn more about what aspect of Muskoka inspired each coffee and what you will taste in the cup.

If you are already an experienced coffee connoisseur, you know what you are looking for and are likely to find a coffee that hits your preference zone, hopefully surpassing what you have enjoyed until now. If you are new to coffee exploration, welcome aboard and enjoy the journey!
