One question we get a lot is - does dark roasted coffee contain more or less caffeine than lighter roasts?
There are two ways to answer this question. One is long and scientific. You would be bored at the end of the first sentence! The other way is to offer you a very simple conclusion to put the whole matter in perspective.
There are very minor differences in caffeine content as a result of the roasting process; with an emphasis on minor. There are bigger differences resulting from the origin of the green coffee or varietal in the blend.
For the vast majority of coffee drinkers who are not highly sensitive to caffeine, the differences in cup are so small as to be immaterial. So, our advice is to put this question to the side and choose the blend/roast that you enjoy the most...the difference in caffeine content is really not a factor.
