The rugged landscape of Muskoka was settled more than a century ago
by men and women who were determined to build a new life. When the
Snell family carved out a homestead a stone's throw from the towering pines
and maples of what is now Algonquin Park, they were driven by a
pioneering spirit that continues to this day.
Surviving by their wits and strength as farmers and Algonquin
lumberman, the Snells developed a fierce love for the land and a
strong tradition of hard work, seasoned with a taste for adventure.
It is this heritage that now guides the Muskoka Roastery
Coffee Company.
When William Snell first raised a family in the wilderness
more than a century ago, he was a Muskoka pioneer.
Now great grandson Douglas is a pioneer in his own right
as the first Coffee Roaster of the region. With a deep sense of
history, years of specialized training, and a great desire for that
perfect brew, he is creating a unique line of coffee blends.
They're distinctively Canadian - authentic regional flavours
from sweet maple to rich, earthy espresso.
